I don't really understand, but yea, lol. Can read more here.
I would say they're 70% true, not completely. But now I think I'm more aware of myself better (or more like, reminded, haha).

Green Screen Show

(credits to ChunHong who introduced this to me)
Awesomely funny and super creative, really worth the watch! I've been LOL-ing the whole night (and did very little work, crap..)

Basically during the show itself, they only have it in the green screen studio (and the live audience don't actually see the animations inside), and they have different kinds of performance games, such as Freeze Tag, New Choice, Hollywood Moments, One Syllable Word, etc. After the whole thing, they'll pass the video recordings to the animators and they'll put animations to enhance the whole thing. Very interesting! I think it's a good way to train the drama people, lol.

Anyway Happy CNY people (to whoever that reads my blog)!
Though it doesn't really feel like CNY to me (besides hunting food when most of the shops are closed =/ ), I really hope this CNY marks another 'checkpoint' for many of us, yea.

Character Design

(As quoted in Computer Arts Project Issue 116)

I didn't want to draw people but I wanted them to be able to reflect humanity.

( James Harris)

New characters and situations are born from the edges of previous creations.
(Pete Fowler)

We want to peel certain characters off the page and play with them.
(Jon Burgerman)

A character comes to life in its reactions to the other characters or events surrounding it.
(Andrew Griffin)

The character should still be able to work with a stick dipped in mud and drawn on asphalt.
(Sune Ehlers)

A great character must be very simple so that you can redesign it really quickly.
(Jean Vincent)

Think about the meaning of the word 'character'.
You're supposed to breathe life into these things, make them appealing.

(Neil McFarland)

A successful character is one that can be recognisable and memorable.
(Rob Reger)

I often had to draw my characters in situations I felt they wouldn't naturally be in.
It does sound very compromising.

(James Jarvis)

The characters are merely actors.
I ask them to keep facial expressions to an absolute minimum, and implore them not to overact.

(Jeremyville)

Characters are very expressive.
They can convey feelings better than human facial expressions, which can be hard to read, or somehow not sincere. I think that characters can awaken in myself - and in the viewer - a sense of tenderness that is very pleasant to the eye and soul. Characters can be very amusing as well. I think that designing characters requires study - there's a skill in researching a character's shape and style that's similar to making a logo.
(Simone Legno)

Actually posted here for reference, cos I can't think of anywhere better to post it up.

Time to work on my designs!

2009

11 days in 2009
Many 'self-defragments' have been done
Yet more questions than answers
But I'll hang on

How much sheep-like I am
So much discontentment within
Yet Your faithfulness
Just won't let go

Been playing
Dissidia Final Fantasy in Kx's PSP (thanks for lending me! it rocks!)
The OST is also awesome, check out the main theme: The Messenger.
Don't really get the meaning of the lyrics, but the music is great!

I do hope that by God's grace I'd be able to be involved in creating a game that can bring God's truth to the world. Game is really a powerful media to reach out to.

On a side note, my first time ever purchasing a book (besides school textbooks from last time -__- ), $45 in Kinokuniya (T_T), but I really think it's worth it! (Most probably due to the cost-reward effect, lol)
MANGA MATRIX!! Awesome book!

I bought it in conjunction to discover what my true passion is. I'm giving this semester a try, to involve myself in a lot of character designs & illustrations, basically to A LOT & A LOT of drawings, to let myself be the vessel that God can work thru, to be His hands, so that thru my works people can be drawn to Him and His truth! Count me in Your business.

Another thing: INSPIRING COMMUNICATIONS
We continually remember before our God and Father
your work produced by faith,
your labor prompted by love, and
your endurance inspired by hope
in our Lord Jesus Christ.
[ 1 Thessalonians 1:3 ]

Will stretch my illustration skill like no one's business, yeah! Watch me, World!!

Let's do it together!
